Press Release.

Rising from a two day National Conference which held on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th of October 2019 in Abuja, The Centre For NGOs and Citizens engagement is calling on the federal government and other relevant agencies to consider the removal of irrelevant enquiries that are currently impediments to nationhood from all federal enquiry or application forms.

The said irrelevant enquiries include:

– State of origin?
– Tribe?
– Mother’s maiden name? and
– Religion?

CNCengage rather recommends the use of STATE OF RESIDENCE instead of STATE OF ORIGIN and a complete expulsion of the other three.

It was pointed out through an overwhelming vote by the delegates from all the geopolitical zones of the country, that if we must uphold meritocracy and true federalism, the removal of these enquiries that are currently impediments to our journey to nationhood must be considered with every urgency that it deserves.
We therefore call on Nigerians to join CNCengage in this patriotic appeal to see that these enquiries which are not only irrelevant but rather helping to divide us or stir biases among us as a people is removed.

Thank you and God bless
